Just as the recent storm hit the northwest the night before, the home side blew United aside at the Etihad Stadium. It was a statement 3-0 victory for their manager's side due to goals from Knaak, Bunny Shaw and Hemp. It was a performance that clearly signaled their championship potential as they reinforced their standing at the top of the table.

Successive Defeats for Manchester United

This scoreline marked consecutive WSL losses for Skinner's side for the initial occasion since May 2024, placing them a significant margin off the league leaders with their championship aspirations in serious doubt.

The Red Devils' capacity to juggle domestic and European soccer with a limited squad has been a frequently analyzed topic since they qualified for the UCL. After the Break

The clearest change came from the United manager at the break as Melvine Malard entered for Elisabeth Terland but by this time it was too late to shift the momentum of the match. Former Manchester City player Park came most likely to score, striking the upright, but the visitors were lacking in ideas and did not manage to record a one shot on goal.

The hosts, in contrast, could have increased their lead when a excellent Vivianne Miedema through ball sent Bunny Shaw away only for her to miss the chance but it mattered little to the hosts.
